The first week of July I had the privilege of being the instructor for a Youth Visual Arts Workshop as part of the Green Box Arts Festival in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado.
We had a great time!
Me and my 10 young artists sketched on location, hiked up to the waterfall and to the Gazebo, picnicked by the creek, and created paintings inspired by our location studies in our studio. We also toured the Cloud City installation as well. I lay on my back on a plank bridge over the creek and looked up at the sky. I got to be a kid, a teacher, and an artist!
It was really fun, being out in nature, feeling the flow and spirit of life infusing everything - including us and our art. And we made a lot of art too!, and learned a lot about painting and drawing. I was really intrigued by the uniqueness of each of the young artists - they all had very distinct thoughts and strong ideas about what they wanted to create.
